For a Distributor to set up his Virtual Distributor Link
-------------------------------------------------------

The distributor should sign up with Technasales via email to rvince99@hotmail.com that he wants to obtain a virtual distributor link. Then, in his web page, he needs to create a link to the Virtual distributor web page in HTML as:

url?emailaddy@hisISP?chatenetwork?chatroom

This should be enclosed in quotation marks, and the link created using the HTML 'HREF' command.

The link contains four parameters, separated by Question marks (?).

The first parameter is the actual web page URL of the Virtual Distributor site the link is to. For example, this can be http://www.technalink.com/vdist/vickers/

The second parmater is simply the email address, which is the email address the RFQ goes to. It is also used to place the Netmeeting call. Therefore, the email field in the intended RFQ recipient's Netmeeting must be set to this email address.

The third parameter is the chat network. Examples of these are:

//IRC.WEBMASTER.COM/ (this is the one we recommend)
//Comicsrv.microsoft.com/
//glass.dal.net/

Note that the network begins with two forward slashes '/'and ends with one.

The fourth and final parameter is the chatroom name the distributor wants to use on that network.

Thus, if the distributor sets up his link to Virtual Distributor as:

http://technalink.com/vdist/vickers/vickers.html?75013.1641@compuserve.com?//IRC.WEBMASTER.COM/?BillsCyl

You can see how the whole page is laid out for him. His email address for the RFQ shall be 75013.1641@compuserve.com (this is also the email filed that he must use in Netmeeting under 'Options') and someone coming in on his link will be set up to access the chatroom BillsCyl on the network //IRC.WEBMASTER.COM/

The distributor should always have this web page open, and always have Joined his own chat to be ready to handle anyone who may wander in. With his web page open, he is also ready to receive Netmeeting calls from anyone on his page who happens to hit the Call button.

It is imperative that distributors use the ils.bytebeam.com ils server. This can be set up in Netmeeting by hitting 'Tools-Options-General,' and typing ils.bytebeam.com directly into the 'Directory' combo box. To confirm He is on this directory, when he hits the Call item on the Netmeeting menu, he should see an option under that menu saying 'Log off from ils.bytebeam.com.' This confirms he is logged onto that server and awaiting any calls.

The important thing for the distributor is to have the page running, and be resident in his chatroom. This way, anyone who enters the chat can get him, and his netmeeting is logged onto ils.bytebeam.com, thus ready to accept calls.

If someone comes into the page without specifying the parameters, it takes them to a default Manufacturers chatroom (which the manufacturer should have manned), and a defualt email address for the RFQ and netmeeting. The manufacturer needs to TAS this default address so we can set it up in the page.
